Barfi! 1st Monday Box Office Collections
Barfi! made 6.50 Crores as per early estimates on it’s 1st Monday at the domestic box office. The movie seems to be doing exceptionally well even though it released majorly in the multiplexes. Barfi!‘s 4 day box office total now stands at 41.10 Crores.
The movie seems to have had audiences glued to their seats even on a Monday. Quite frankly it’s Monday business exceeds expectations. Barfi!‘s 1st weekend was 34.6 Crores which is a great number in itself. The movie will look for closing the week at 55 plus crores. If the Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra starrer maintains it’s steady pace, we must admit it will be no difficulty at all.
A major chunk of the earnings of this multiplex flick came from urban centers like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Surat, Indore, and Gurgaon. This week sees the release of another UTV production, i.e. Heroine. The Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal starrer is a highly awaited Madhur Bhandarkar flick and is sure to get a mammoth footfall. Barfi! might suffer soon after the release of Heroine. However, it should not matter as Barfi! has already exceeded expectations by its performance so far.

Raaz 3 2nd Friday Box Office Collections
Raaz 3 make an approx 4.50 Crores on its 2nd Friday at the box office. The movie has proven to be every bit better than expectations and now stands at a total domestic box office collection of 59.50 Crores.
The Emraan Hashmi, Bipasha Basu and Esha Gupta starrer has proved its worth in the very 1st week. Raaz 3 has maintained a good momentum even after Barfi! released at a huge scale in the multiplexes across India.
Barfi! might however take its toll on Raaz 3 this week. Also the highly awaited Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine starring Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal is also due coming week and might just have a disastrous effect on Raaz 3.

Will Barfi! Be Ranbir Kapoor’s Ticket To Rs 100 Crore Box Office Club?
Ranbir Kapoor who was born into the prestigious “Kapoor” clan , where he is a fourth actor debuted with a disaster Saawariya. His performance in the movie earned him many debut awards, but the movie was a commercial flop, as it could not withstand the tough competition from Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om. Ranbir the Kapoor scion has always been choosy when it comes to films. He has always preferred multi–starrer movies with the exception of Raajneeti. Raajneeti had a huge star-cast however it was his role that impressed the audiences and the critics.
Ranbir even though being in Bollywood for 5 years has managed to give just 2 hit movies namely- Raajneeti and Ajab Prem ki Gajab Kahaani. His Other movies did average business at the box office like- Wake Up Sid, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Rocket Singh . His last release Rockstar was a big release which earned him the best actor in all awards functions but is not considered a commercially successful film. If you see, Ranbir Kapoor’s Filmography it doesnt have big hits like the Khans but Ranbir, has earned big league star status with fetching high fee which is quoted around 18 crores. He is also considered one of the top-most actors in Bollywood in the new generation of actors.
His upcoming release Barfi! is with Priyanka Chopra. His last movie with her Anjaani Anjaani had bombed badly at the box office. Barfi! also looks like movie made for Mutiplex rather than Single screen. Looking the star cast and directed by Anurag Basu movie looks promising. Ranbir plays the title character of ‘Barfi!’ who is deaf and mute. Priyanka Chopra plays the role of an autistic girl and Ileana D’cruz is shown as the narrator of the film. Going by predictions and audiences responses to the trailers and songs, it seems that Barfi! is going to a be blockbuster. It is expected to rake in a good business at the box office. His last film Rockstar made approx 65 crores at the box office but was not a commercial success.

‘Raaz 3′ should find good audience – Box Office Predictions
Except for ‘Shanghai‘ which didn’t really take an opening and didn’t sustain well either, Emraan Hashmi starrers have been enjoying good patronage amongst not just his steady fan-base but also a ‘now-emerging’ multiplex followers. ‘Jannat 2‘ showed that a few months back while ‘The Dirty Picture‘, ‘Murder 2‘, ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai‘ and to an extent ‘Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji‘ have demonstrated that in the past.
No wonder, expectations are good from ‘Raaz 3‘ as well. The hero is saleable, the franchise is kicking and alive, the production house (Vishesh Films) is on a roll, the director (Vikram Bhatt) has the best track record in ‘fear and horror’ genre and not to mention, the heroine (Bipasha Basu) has promised to reinvent herself. What is missing though (and quite importantly) is the presence of a hit soundtrack that would have locked the affairs. While that should not be the deciding factor in the ultimate fate of the film, it would have an impact in the initial tally of the film over the weekend.
The film is expected to take a good start of over 60% and only consolidate its position over the weekend. In fact it won’t be surprising if the film touches much higher occupancy, especially in the single screens as well as auditoriums where it is being shown in 3D. With a weekend of over 25 crores expected for the film, ‘Raaz 3‘ should immediately find itself in a safe zone.
